Axopar Connect Brings “Smarter Boating” to Your Phone: The App and New UI Designed for Safety, Ease, and Peace of Mind

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – December 26, 2025 – Boating has always been a mix of freedom and responsibility: the open water feels effortless, while the behind-the-scenes checks can feel like a checklist marathon. Axopar’s new Axopar Connect app and its reimagined onboard User Interface (UI) are built to tip that balance toward the fun part—by making your boat’s key information easier to see, easier to understand, and (when equipped) accessible even when you’re not onboard.

A Digital Ecosystem for Real Life on the Water

Axopar positions Axopar Connect and the new UI as the start of a “connected and more personalized boating” era, developed together with marine electronics leader Navico Group. The idea is simple: instead of scattered information across different systems, owners get one ecosystem that helps with navigation, monitoring, trip history, and day-to-day boat management—on a mobile device and on the Simrad multifunction display onboard.

“Our collaboration with Navico Group shows the power of combining innovation with real-world customer needs. Together we have created something entirely new in boating — an ecosystem that gives our customers confidence, control, and simplicity in every journey,” says Jan-Erik Viitala, Founding Partner at Axopar Boats.

What Axopar Connect Actually Does for Owners

At its best, this isn’t “tech for tech’s sake.” It’s about arriving at the marina feeling prepared, not stressed—and being able to check in from afar without guesswork. Axopar Connect is described as a digital bridge between the boat and its owner, offering live data, remote access to key systems (when equipped), trip analytics, and tools designed to support safer, more informed boating.

A big lifestyle win is the modular home screen: editable blocks you can rearrange to prioritize what matters most to you—like fuel levels, battery status, weather, and a boat guide. There’s also a dedicated notifications section designed to gather alerts, warnings, and system updates in one place, with safety alerts sent to the mobile phone application (including bilge pump activity or geofencing exits).

Hardware, Model Years, and Retrofit: Who Gets What

To access all core functions, factory-installed hardware is required through either premium Twin Simrad display options or the standalone Axopar Connectivity option package (compatible only with Simrad multifunction displays). The Axopar Connectivity hub collects data from boat systems and sensors to power the app experience.

The Axopar Connectivity hub is available as an option on model year 2026 boats measuring 29 feet and above, with availability and feature sets varying by model and selected options. Existing owners can add a retrofit kit, but it is limited to monitoring features only and requires Simrad multifunction displays with NMEA2000 compatibility together with Mercury outboards. Retrofit feasibility is noted for Axopar 45, Axopar 37, Axopar 29, and Axopar 28 models, depending on space, access, and a direct 24h power supply.

Onboard UI: One Glance, Less Stress

Axopar’s onboard UI, integrated into Simrad multifunction displays on boats from 29 feet upwards, has been “completely reimagined” with a fresh graphic layout and new features. The promise is fewer screen jumps and more clarity: system status, fuel consumption, safety checklists, multimedia shortcuts, and navigational data are presented as a single, easy-to-read environment.

“We have simplified the boating experience in a way that no one else has. You get the full picture of your boat with just one glance — all relevant information, clearly displayed, so you can focus on enjoying your time on the water,” says Jan-Erik Viitala.

Two driving modes also shape the vibe onboard: Economy mode suggests the most fuel-efficient cruising speed, while Sport mode uses a built-in G-shock sensor to monitor boat stress levels and trigger yellow and red alerts if driving becomes too aggressive.
