Riva Cento: A 12-Boat Collector’s Open Yacht That Reimagines Classic Italian Glamour

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – December 27, 2025 – If you’ve ever dreamed of a boat that feels like a tailored suit and a summer memory at the same time, Riva’s newest limited edition is aimed squarely at that feeling.

A Collector’s Edition Built to Feel Timeless

Riva Cento is a special limited run of just twelve open yachts, created to celebrate the Sarnico brand’s unmistakable style while giving it a sharper, more contemporary edge. At 11.88 meters long with a 3.50-meter beam, it’s sized for day-making adventures—but also designed to make you want to stay out longer than planned. Think late-afternoon departures, golden-hour anchoring, and that quiet satisfaction that comes from owning something intentionally rare.

Behind the look is the long-running design partnership of Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta (Officina Italiana Design), working with the Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The point isn’t to chase trends—it’s to keep the legend feeling alive.

Colors, Materials, and the Kind of Details You Notice Twice

Each of the 12 hulls comes in either fireworks black or a light grey aluminium color, both chosen to spotlight the yacht’s sleek, flowing lines without shouting. Inside and on deck, the leather cushions use a ribbed finish inspired by 1950s and ’60s car design, offered in biscuit or an aquamarine-and-white combination. It’s a subtle nod to heritage that doesn’t feel like nostalgia cosplay—it feels like taste.

There’s also a small-but-meaningful shift on the hull side: the former air-intake grille becomes a new steel profile with a polished mahogany insert, decorated with the name “Riva” and small stars. It’s the kind of signature detail collectors love because it tells a story without needing a speech.

The Stern Turns into Your Private Beach Moment

One of Cento’s most “Riva” moves is at the back: an electro-hydraulic system opens the stern door, complete with built-in mahogany steps. Under that, two chaises longues with detachable cushions create two full sunbeds, turning the stern into a beach-like lounge zone. It’s a simple transformation, but emotionally it changes how you use the boat—less “sit and stare,” more “settle in and stay.”

When the stern door is open, you also get dedicated storage compartments for fenders (port side) and a Seabob (starboard side). A retractable gangway integrated into the transom opens automatically, and underwater lights support navigation and mooring in low-light conditions—practical features that quietly protect the vibe.

A Social Cockpit That Switches from Aperitivo to Sunpad

Midship, a large sunpad with built-in cup holders sets the tone: this yacht expects you to live outside. The cockpit follows with a C-shaped sofa around a stainless-steel table with a glossy lacquered mahogany top. The table’s up-down mechanism lets it drop flush with the cushions, converting the whole area into a second sunpad. Add a retractable bimini top operated by an electro-hydraulic mechanism integrated into the sofa backrest, and you’ve got shade when you want it—sky when you don’t.

Storage is thoughtfully baked in, too: there are compartments for life jackets and even a shoe drawer. And between cockpit and helm, the supporting units hide smart hospitality touches like cocktail prep accessories, a drawer refrigerator, plus a sink and work top on the port side. On the starboard side, an insulated cooler keeps ice and drinks at the right temperature.

A Cabin That Makes Overnight Stops Feel Effortless

Below deck, Cento is designed as a bright open space for comfort while cruising and for overnight stops at anchor. The fully appointed galley sits to starboard near the entrance, while the bathroom with separate shower cubicle is on the port side. Forward, a large sofa follows the hull shape and converts into a double bed using a panel from the central storage compartment. A redesigned skylight and enlarged side windows amplify natural light—because the best kind of luxury often looks like “simple, but perfect.”

3 Ways This Matters If You Love the Water
  • It turns a “dayboat” into a true lifestyle platform, with real comfort for lingering at anchor and the ability to sleep aboard.
  • It brings classic Riva cues into a cleaner, more modern package—ideal for buyers who want heritage without feeling retro.
  • It’s engineered for confidence: twin Volvo Penta D6 440 engines, a reported 40-knot top speed and 31-knot cruise speed (preliminary data), plus a Seakeeper NG6 gyroscopic stabilizer as standard.
Performance That Matches the Mood

Riva Cento runs on two Volvo Penta D6 440 Aquamatic Duoprop DPI engines. The Volvo Penta software automatically adjusts the sterndrive to optimize trim under way, with the goal of reducing fuel consumption while improving comfort, acceleration, and overall efficiency. Add joystick steering and an electric bow thruster for manoeuvrability, and the yacht keeps the experience feeling smooth—so the day stays about people, places, and the sea, not stress.

Riva Cento made its official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025, and it’s clearly aimed at buyers who don’t just want a boat—they want a piece of the Riva story, told in a fresh voice.
