Kia North Danvers Marks One Year with Solar-Powered, Eco-Friendly Dealership Experience

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 27, 2025 – Kia North Danvers is celebrating its first anniversary on the North Shore by doing more than just cutting a cake – it’s switching on a powerful new solar energy system to make car shopping cleaner and greener. In just one year, the employee-owned dealership has become a trusted spot for new and pre-owned Kia vehicles, friendly service, and community involvement. Now it’s underscoring that commitment by investing in solar power to shrink its carbon footprint and support a more sustainable lifestyle for local drivers.

Employee-owned, community-focused and thinking long-term

Located on Route 1 North at 181 Newbury St. in Danvers, Kia North Danvers is part of the ICL Family of dealerships and proudly stands as the only employee-owned Kia dealership in all of New England. That ownership structure means team members have a direct stake in how the business serves the community and the planet.

"We're thrilled to mark our first year in Danvers," said Bryan Laskin, General Manager of Kia North Danvers. "This amazing community has welcomed us with open arms, and we're excited to give back—not just through great service, but by investing in a greener future." For local customers, that “greener future” translates into a dealership experience that aligns better with the eco-conscious values behind Kia’s growing range of hybrid and electric vehicles.

High-impact solar that turns sunshine into savings

The new solar installation at Kia North Danvers has been designed to make a real, measurable difference. The system features 205 high-efficiency 555W Adityaa Solar Modules, delivering 113.7 kW DC / 100 kW AC of clean power. It is projected to generate approximately 136,000 kWh of electricity every year – enough to power roughly 12 to 13 average American homes annually.

That output is expected to cover about 57% of the dealership’s total yearly energy needs, significantly reducing operating emissions while enhancing energy resilience. For customers, it’s a reassuring sign that the place where they browse for their next vehicle is also doing its part behind the scenes to cut energy use and rely more on renewable power.

Leadership that wants sustainability to be contagious

The solar project is also a statement of values from the ICL group as a whole. "We are extremely excited to celebrate Kia North Danvers 1st year serving Danvers and the North shore but also ecstatic how our solar panels underscore the ICL's forward-thinking approach as we strive to make a positive impact in the communities where we do business. We are constantly investing in projects to make the lives of our employees, customers, and partners better," says Damon Jespersen, Chairman of International Cars, Ltd. Board of Directors. "It is our hope that our commitment to environmental responsibility and holistic business practices will serve as a model and inspiration, and together we will make the world, safer, cleaner and more sustainable for everyone."

For drivers, that kind of leadership translates into a more feel-good buying and servicing experience: you’re not just choosing a car brand, you’re supporting a dealership group that is actively investing in green tech and local jobs.

Partnerships powering a cleaner dealership

This clean-energy milestone is the result of a multi-partner collaboration, bringing together regional expertise in solar manufacturing, implementation and advocacy. International Cars, Ltd. worked alongside Aarjay Ventures | Renewable Energies Division, a Boston-based business specializing in solar panel manufacturing, the Implementation Partner | KW Management of New Hampshire, and clean-energy advocate SaVI, LLC of New Hampshire.

"Everyone's contributions have been truly foundational to the success of this project, creating a lasting impact that continues to shape the curve of meaningful progress in the clean energy sector." Jyoti Hinduja, Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer - Aarjay Ventures

For customers walking into the showroom, the result is simple: a brighter, more efficient dealership that draws more of its power from the sun, rather than the grid alone.

3 ways this solar-powered dealership benefits everyday drivers

To make the sustainability story practical, here are three direct benefits shoppers can appreciate when visiting Kia North Danvers:

  • Greener peace of mind: When you’re considering an electric, hybrid, or fuel-efficient Kia, it feels even better to do it at a dealership that’s actively investing in clean energy itself.
  • Long-term local commitment: Solar is a long-term investment, signaling that Kia North Danvers is planning to be part of the Danvers and North Shore community for years to come.
  • A more modern dealership experience: From energy resilience to reduced operating costs, smarter energy use can help the dealership focus more on service, customer care, and innovative mobility options.

As Kia continues to lead in electric and hybrid vehicle innovation worldwide, Kia North Danvers is mirroring that vision at the local level by making eco-conscious choices and helping customers drive toward a cleaner future.
