But the demand for health and wellness offers within the tourism sector is steadily increasing. So-called wellness tourism is a growing component of the hotel industry. According to a Statista survey, wellness and health holidays were among the top five most popular types of short trips in 2021 with a share of approximately 11.5 percent. In addition, around 28 percent of Germans expressed interest in special wellness offers, such as visits to wellness hotels or spas. The 50th anniversary fair of Equitana was a great success. Almost 101,000 visitors came to Essen and sent a clear signal: The fair is and remains the most important meeting place and marketplace for equestrian sport. The continuation will already follow next year.

The Equitana Innovation Prizes have now been awarded. Our panel of experts chose a winner in each of seven categories as well as awarding a special prize. There was also a clear winner in the eyes of the Equitana social media community when it came to the Visitor’s Prize. In the final vote, the majority selected a belt made of apple leather by Royal Horsemen. “This prize is hugely encouraging for us because community management is very important to us. It is vital that we are as close to the consumer as possible,” CEO Robin Schuster stressed.

The World Equestrian Show celebrates its anniversary with 450 exhibitors from 15 nations, with 80,000 expected visitors and 400 hours of programme. Olympic champions, world and European champions as well as prominent trainers will teach ways to success in lessons and training evenings.
