The World Equestrian Show will once again be the industry's showcase next year. Well-known brands such as Böckmann, Rampelmann and Spliethoff, Röwer and Rüb, Weidemann, Agrobs, Stübben, Pikeur and Sprenger will be presenting their wide range of products and, above all, their innovations. The signpost to the best ideas is the Equitana Innovation Award. Europe's most prestigious award for the equestrian market recognises future-oriented innovations in all investment areas of equestrian sport.

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – March 9, 2023 – The reasons for travelling are manifold - there is a suitable hotel for every type of traveller. But the demand for health and wellness offers within the tourism sector is steadily increasing. So-called wellness tourism is a growing component of the hotel industry. According to a Statista survey, wellness and health holidays were among the top five most popular types of short trips in 2021 with a share of approximately 11.5 percent. In addition, around 28 percent of Germans expressed interest in special wellness offers, such as visits to wellness hotels or spas. In the same year, around 5.2 million Germans booked a wellness or health holiday. But Germans also continue to be willing to invest money in the area of sports: 14.2 billion euros per year.

Equitana 2023 - new date for the World Equestrian Show
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – March 9, 2023 – Next year, Equitana will be held in Essen from 9 to 15 March. The positive response to the anniversary event has shown that the shortened duration is a model for the future.
The 50th anniversary fair of Equitana was a great success. Almost 101,000 visitors came to Essen and sent a clear signal: The fair is and remains the most important meeting place and marketplace for equestrian sport. The continuation will already follow next year.
Equitana 2023 will take place in Essen from Thursday, 9 to Wednesday, 15 March.

The Equitana Innovation Prizes have now been awarded. Our panel of experts chose a winner in each of seven categories as well as awarding a special prize. There was also a clear winner in the eyes of the Equitana social media community when it came to the Visitor’s Prize. In the final vote, the majority selected a belt made of apple leather by Royal Horsemen. “This prize is hugely encouraging for us because community management is very important to us. It is vital that we are as close to the consumer as possible,” CEO Robin Schuster stressed.

EQUITANA 2022: Invitation to press conference and opening
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – March 9, 2023 – EQUITANA celebrates its 50th birthday from 7 to 13 April. Invitation to the opening press conference on 7 April from 9.30 a.m. at the fairgrounds in Essen.
EQUITANA has been a pioneer for half a century and sets standards for equestrian sport and the industry. What began in 1972 as a supposedly crazy idea has meanwhile become a worldwide institution. The World Equestrian Show celebrates its anniversary with 450 exhibitors from 15 nations, with 80,000 expected visitors and 400 hours of programme. Olympic champions, world and European champions as well as prominent trainers will teach ways to success in lessons and training evenings. The highlight of the fair day is the Hop Top Show in the evening with renowned artists from all over Europe and magic moments between man and horse.
